This year's recipient is firefighter Keith Swenson, a four year veteran with the Moab Valley Fire Protection District (MVFPD). Keith joined the Moab volunteer fire department in 2008.

Keith Swenson resides in Moab Utah and looking to further his role in the community as a volunteer for the Moab Valley Fire Protection District.

Keith was born in Moab in 1980 and grew up in the Moab valley attending Grand County schools until the age of 9 when he moved to Elko, Nevada. Keith returned to Moab in 2007 to find a good career to be able to stay in the Moab area.

Keith is very involved in fire department activities, and in his free time, Keith likes to go hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Keith said that "I just like doing anything outdoors." Keith is always willing to help his friends and his community whenever asked.

Keith has gone above and beyond the normal duties of a firefighter in trainings and in the daily operations of the department. Keith's dedication, loyalty, and hard work have earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and the prestigious award of 2011 Moab Valley Fire Protection District Firefighter of the Year.
