Firefighter Of The Year (07/08) T.J. Brewer
Moab resident T.J. Brewer has been named the 2007 Firefighter Of The Year. Brewer received the honor on December 12th, 2007, at the Annual Fireman's Banquet.
To receive this prestigious award, firefighters are nominated and voted on by the officers. Brewer followed in the footsteps of his father, Moab Fire Chief Corky Brewer, when he became a firefighter in January of 1999, and has been an active member ever since.
T.J. Brewer has earned his Firefighter II certificate, is a member of the Hazmat team, an extrication instructor, and responder on the rescue truck, as well as being a member of the agency's scuba dive team.
Brewer was also honored, along with several other firefighters, with a plaque from Moab Police Chief Navarre for the extrication rescue of Officer Brett Edge, in early 2007.
Brewer is married to Logan Brewer, and is the proud father of three children, Taylor, 7, Traedyn, 4 and Kaleb, 4 months. He has worked for the Grand County Sheriff's office for the past seven years, and was honored at the Sheriff's Office annual Christmas party as Employee of the Year.
